Very late last evening I was going through my Twitter feed and came across an article by a fellow Bahamian, no less someone from Freeport and I was amazed at its content. It's about over a week since the last post and in that time we have hosted the first Bahamas Womenpreneur Power Conference and Expo at the Pelican Bay Hotel in Freeport. Well the number of participants was not what we wanted but we had a number of vendors and over all I would deem it a success. Collaborating FSI, with Media Unlimited and Flipping Grand Bahama we did a lot of promotions online and some radio advertising, as well as newspaper articles. We learned a lot in putting on the event, and even more from the speakers on staring business, how to deal with the recently implemented Value Added Tax (VAT) and where funding is possible in The Bahamas. Again the aim of this blog is to be a game changer, to change the mindset of the people in the country and particularly on the island of Grand Bahama for us to change it into a successful little island.
