Election fever

At four we are in the heat of a very interesting election season which thankfully ends tomorrow.

There has been so much said. There has been a lot of character assassinations. There has been a lot of concerts. There have been some promises.... hmmmm by so many parties. There have even been some independents whose messages has gotten lost and certainly have not been heard due to the loud megaphones of the major parties.

There has even been a call to spoil the ballot.

There are calls to make sure you bring even land papers to be able to vote to make sure you are not stopped from exercising your constitutional right.

It has been an interesting month, to say the least, and in Grand Bahama, there have been some improvements for some persons by an opposition candidate... the first to be seen..... as normally it's the Governing party candidate who would use the Governments (our) funds to make improvements to look good to be re-elected.

Things that make you go "hmmmmm".

Well..... again the question is... to vote or not to vote?!

If you are registered already do that duty and vote. I will this time around.

The choices are hard as apparently the ridiculous is on offering by everyone. Do I want marijuana legalized? Do I expect the government to pay my power bill (what Government does that or should be asked to do that)?; Do I think things change will take place moving from on group to the next?

How are we being seen internationally? So the Miami Herald has something to say about that this morning and a broadcast about the country being owned by the Chinese is circulating hard this morning. What does this mean?

In the background in Grand Bahama there is much going on with concessions being applied for by business owners while some are not sure what it is all about, but it comes from the recently Hawksbill Creek Agreement's amendments. Where do we stand in Freeport, Grand Bahama?

Will there be changes? Will we like the changes? What can we do?

The election is on Wednesday. We go back to work on Thursday and we will continue to work until we are retired no matter who is in power. What will you do to impress your views for a better Bahamas on the persons elected to represent you? Your employees? After voting and as you get back to work, give your instructions to your employees on what you expect for a better Bahamas. Not just something for you and your family and friends, but the country as a whole.

I say let's Rush the Goal to Fire up the People for a Better Bahamas; because I believe it's the People's Time for a Better Bahamas.
