Getting our grove back

Ahh, the slow comfortable life of island living.

What we all seem to forget is that in life there are always ebbs and flows, and while Grand Bahama may have had its share of ebbs, the flows were not so bad.

Revising the "why" of this blog I began to think its undertaking is quite vast. To reach each Grand Bahamian to say wake up and prepare for the next flow is daunting and sometimes self-defeating.

The reality of it though is that if we don't then prepare now and get in on the ground level while there are so many ground breakings then you can so easily miss out and cry out that the people from other islands and other nations are once again taking everything from you.

We have had a really bad time following the markets crash of 2007/8 and recovery has been extremely slow.

The hurricanes of 2004/5 as noted before, is still affecting the people of and residents of this island. But to move on, to make it better seems to bee almost too hard for some.

But it is the thing that was needed to get a fresh start. All bad is not simply to bring you down; it could be a way to make you see where you are and how strong you really are. If you ask for strength, how will you know if you got it if it is not tested?

Tests tell you how much patience you have.

Cry out for wisdom and see what can be done to make things better for you, your family and your community. Even your country.
Listening to Earl Nightingale in his series on "Acres of Diamonds" he recommends something that many positive speakers do... "have a goal". But he goes further to say that with this goal you get up each morning and using a sheet of paper write down the things you need to do to see this goal realized. And also, have new goals set because you will need it to move on once one goal is realized.

What is the goal for Grand Bahama and Grand Bahamians, or even just residents of this Grand island? To become so positive and ready and charged that they come up with innovative ideas and ways of helping each other that profit them to be where they want to be, and to get what they seek.

What is your goal? Need a coach to assist? Lots of them in Grand Bahama waiting to help.
