Let's Go!

I would like to thank all those persons who took the time to comment on my blog. To Tristan Lockhart, sorry that I didn't add that the tax concessions and other taxes would expire in 2015, and I like the comment you made about the fact that the Hawksbill Creek Agreement was amended in 1993 and how it can be amended.

Going forward we need to look at what we can do.

Kudos again to LaReina DelMundo Sharez who commented:
"We have vocational training in our public high schools, but not many industries, especially technical ones to place all of our students in after they leave school. Here in Freeport the GBPA is supposed attract investments in industry for the city of Freeport. Not much has happened in that department - taxes after the incentive period is over, high electricity costs, high landing fees (that they directly control) have all scared potentials away. If scholarships are especially provided for students interested in specialty fields along with sure internships at companies already here or those abroad so that they can bring the skill here to possibly expand industries, the island would be better off. No one tries to emphasize specialties outside of tertiary education. Some students of auto-mechanics can go straight into the workforce and apply their basic skills, but many people don't look into the blessing of getting certifications (or upgrading them). Harley Davidsons, Jeeps, Volks Wagons, fire trucks, Diesel engines, boat and ship engines/mechanics... Many areas of specialization for people to get into that's needed in the country.

"I feel we are too dependent on the government to make moves instead of making them ourselves. Granted certain powers (not even policies) prevent us from entering certain industries successfully, so much so that we do end up settling for less, but we need no wait on empowerment from the government to make our moves... Our empowerment should come from ourselves."

On this score I say check out: http://www.flintstoneinc.co and on Facebook: Flint Stones Inc.

This is another young person in the community putting her foot forward to get people to move toward the empowerment needed. She also has a networking meeting every month that is well worth checking out to get ideas on what you can do to make enrich your life, your community and your country.

Things are happening I now ask you to believe in yourself and let's go!
