Post traumatic growth
Are you ready to grow?
Have you been going through a really tough time and feel that there is no way out but your world is caving in?
In such a state you can either wither or grow.
To grow you need to use the stones of what is ailing you to put under your feet to put you closer to the top.
Looking at Grand Bahama I see that a number of people are getting this really hopeful feeling again and I'm hoping it moves ahead and bring about the growth needed from the post traumatic stress of the hurricanes and the global financial crisis.
So the word on the street is that the straw vendors are being moved to the International Bazaar and tourists will be bused there. Is this true? I don't know but when I heard it some people are really upset by the idea and immediately I started thinking on the opportunities that await a renewed interest in the International Bazaar.
If tourists are being bused there, then how about more restaurants opening for those persons who are coming to have some real Bahamian food or other exotic foods to bring back the feel of an International Bazaar.
How about other stuff to sell to the tourists in the bazaar again? How about tours beginning from the bazaar?
The possibilities are endless.
We may be down but never count us out. And it takes fore sight for see exactly what could happen.
Many people over the past two years have been bemoaning the look and feel of the bazaar remembering how it used to be and how they wished it would be again, and it appears that something can change.
Were you thinking of answers to your own questions? Are you part of the solution?
And are you getting ready for the reopening of downtown Freeport?
Watch it all come back ... but be ready to have a stake in it and not sitting on the sidelines thinking you should be the one making a million in your country.
Start small now and make it all come alive in another year or so.
