Your next move

So I had to smile this morning when I saw a comment left on the last post by an acquaintance from the Bahamas Investment Services Hank Ferguson who said, "Looking forward to the work - based on the intro you got lots of reading to do - #goodluck"

Well, that's a challenge if ever I heard one and one I look forward to working on that, but even more to get more ideas from Hank himself.

So if you feel like a tree and don't want to leave but need the volume of business that will make you a major success, always look to the global markets.

This is all done online. Nothing new. I've said it before. But you may be wondering what to do and how?

Today I looked up some low cost business start ups which I got from Entrepreneur magazine.

Always keep in mind that there are ways in which these can be adapted for here and you decided if you want to sell to a local market and deal with the licensing process (not a bad idea) or set up an online shop and widen your market.

Webpages are easily set up to say do a jewelry business... I have seen a few started in Grand Bahama already, but not with the push that can really bring big bucks. I little more marketing and they can break the only-this-island customers.

Interior designer... there are few on island that I have heard of and with the ways things are changing more change needs to be seen.

A hobby business ... God asked Moses "what do you have in your hand?" Use what you have .. knowledge, service, product. Things that you do and love can make you money. It just takes time.
 

How about senior care business which takes you going to a persons home to give personal care or set up a business that allows you to send others to care... be the agent to assist.

 

A Pet business... some say we don't cherish our pets but we do and even visitors to our shores bring their pets and may need a little something for them so how about something for just pets. 

 

Book keeping... some businesses cannot afford a full time accountant, so how about either a small business to assist a number of other small businesses at small business prices to assist.

 

Consultant ... customer based business to help others in business.

 

Desktop publishing... we all know how to use computers so publishing for yourself and clients should be easy and inexpensive.

 

Manufacturers Rep .. how many persons do you know need someone to help get their business really going and putting forward the best face. Manufacturers need representatives to reach out to potential customers. You are just the link.

Medical Claims.... so there are a number of private clinics that can use the services of having a collector. Check it out.

How about Security Specialist. You may have the equipment, you may not, but your job is to tell the clients what they need in their businesses or homes to be safe.

Virtual Assistant ... everyone needs an assistant without being able to afford the cost of a full time persons. A few clients and you are well on your way to making your desired salary or you can open such a business.

Financial Adviser ... in this island I know of only one financial adviser and as a former bank manager I think it is worth it to have a chat with him ... Dareio Cox.

Tutoring services ... Lots of adults and children are ready for such services to put them on the right track.

We have a number of brilliant wedding planners already and event planners and these are on the list as well.
