Collaborating to make things better

So, what else is on the horizon?

Its now the age of collaboration and more and more people are talking about it and finding ways to do it.

Recently I was invited to join a group of innovative women in a quest to offer many services through one group. To me, that's the way forward.

I also recently saw a young man advertising a five year plan to get 100 people investing in a plan to collectively make a huge investment. Unfortunately he had a website advertised but when I checked it out, it had been been established yet.

Just last week a group of three persons pulled off a very successful Bridal Show, showing what collaborations can do.

In September another group of persons are planning a Women's Expo in Freeport - which they hope will become an annual.

Collaborations seems to be the way forward and seems to be bringing more of a community feel to a Freeport that many said has no soul.

In the past many persons decided that they can and will forge ahead on their own in businesses. Trust is hard to get and to give.

But for some reason recently, people here have realized that together with pooled resources and a structured plan they now want to collectively bring back the magic.

There is  company coming on stream that is looking at helping people to seek crowd funding for their businesses.

While other countries around the world are already benefitting from such plans, it seems that we in The Bahamas have very little knowledge about them.

The World Bank has a programme that offers women instructions and assistance to start and maintain their own businesses. There is a partner in this group who wants to bring this to the Caribbean starting with Grand Bahama and The Bahamas.

It is coming. Are we ready?

If you need more information on any of these Im accessible through flippinggrandbahama@gmail.com.

Do well.
