Little by little….

The more good news you get the more comes.

So what's going on in Grand Bahama at present?

Let's see. Down town the construction for the new Wendy's is on its way. But Sir Jack Hayward announced the months ago and we carried that on this blog.

We told you about Entwined opening in our last post and now there is word that the old Pub on the Mall will be reopened with a new/old concept …. a Bahamian review.

I just had to look back at the old days of the Pub…

(Thanks to oldbahamas.com we can see some of the old places again)

So we are now putting more into the night life of Freeport once again. This is to also add to the Q Corporate Lounge on Logwood Road across from Dolly Madison which is offering the mature audiences a place to go to hang out and have fun on the weekends.

One thing at a time. One business at a time. One idea at a time.

What are you working on?

Recently in Freeport the second annual Bridal Show was held and I will say that it is finally seeing the vision come true. Organizer Pam Hanna who conceived this idea to bring back the Bridal Show met with a lot of negative responses last year. She and partners Dale Wilson tried their best to get it off the ground even when they got Davina Rutherford on board and their original prices had to be halfed and halfed again just to get vendors to want to show off their wares.

Last year, after pulling teeth it came off and this year they did it grand style and brought out a lot of people and vendors at the price they wanted. I can see it only getting bigger each year.

It appears that only when something has begun do you find others finally confident enough to hop on the band wagon. If its just an idea, it may die on the vine.

Then again, if a business person with a great idea begins just with one client, to convince one person and do well with that one thing, more happens.

This concept is proven over and over again.

I heard a story of a man who went to a Caribbean island with very little and soon when it all ran out he bought a six pack of soda and while riding on his bike in the hot sun, he sold that six at a profit and went back to buy more. He kept turning this over until he was able to find a place to sell some of his wares and in a few years he bought land and constructed a small shop and a few years later he expanded even more and later sold the whole operation.

Was it because he was a foreigner he was able to do this? Or was it because of necessity and determination.

Here we have the story of Suzie in Eight Mile Rock who Im told once used to take her wares in a suit case to sell to persons on their jobs. What does she have now?

Do you have a project that is only a pipe dream? Find someone who believes in you and move forward.
