How to reverse the fear of failure...
It has been a while since I have been posting regularly and I realized that I have been posting for two years.
Again... I face another anniversary - 7/5/2013.
It was a great time to start. It was the ending of an era.
And still I face the challenges of moving forward. I say... Following your dreams. I believe in dong just that. But.. there are dark days in the trails and its not always easy to do just ant you want to, but Im told and I believe that if you persevere you will make it through and to the end of the tunnel.
Thats when the idea of its not about the destination but all about the journey that appears for you. And lessons learned during the journey is what makes your stronger and better able to handle the next phase ... whatever that is.
I came across this quote and wanted to use it with this title some time about, "Low expectations and fear of failure impede the poorest from getting ahead. How can this be reversed?"
Yes indeed, how can it be reversed.
As this blog is about changing my island, my country and my world I realize that a lot of us have low expectation for one reason on another. Some because we don't feel like we deserve more, some feel that the world has very little else to offer and a great majority are held back by those they love.
I have read a number of quotes recently that spoke of getting rid of the negativity, but if you live with it and swore to love it forever there is hardly any getting rid of it.
How do you push forward? This can only happen in prayer.
Like any other dis-ease... it needs to be analyzed and the symptoms adequately assessed. Sometimes there are insecurities and fear of you leaving that makes that love hold you back, but you will always have to be you and if it means movement of one or the other it will happen.
I cried for years after my mother died and I realized that if she had not, many things I did in my life after I would never have done. Do I feel relieved that she did die? Hell no! I missed her terribly but when I look at the sum total of what life has been it is clear that to get to where I am and to where I am headed some things needed to change.
Never let it come to a place where someone has to be removed just for you to live. Do what you know you are called to do. And only you know what you are called to do.
To make Grand Bahama great, we must individually get on with making things better starting with the man in the mirror and then your family and then your community. You cannot change your community if you are the same old person with the same old philosophies that are not making sense to those around you. Mind you, what others have to say about you is still none of your business but you must lead as you were born to.
Moving forward even in darkness remember this is not the end, but just a bump in the road to a brighter future. But it depends on you acting on your destiny.
