Action!

Back in action with the new programme to help, I was reading "Before 5am" a page I subscribe to on Instagram and it had a message that said, "Inspiration+Motivation=Action.

Just was was needed as I began this journey to help others... as Zig Zigler says, you can get what you want if you help enough people get what they want.

What did the article say?

It stated that we all have moments of inspiration and for may of us it can even occur numerous times throughout the day.

But, it said, most people never act on their moments of inspiration; that those great ideas and solutions and products just go to the grave with them or these persons later see someone else acting on those ideas.

The article said we do not act on our inspiration because we have no reason to act, that there was no desperation to move.

However it said, when you put Inspiration with Motivation then we are moved to action and we hear stories of rags to riches or people who had nothing and turned it around like JK Rollings or John Paul Dejoria who when they were motivated their situations prepared them to do whatever it takes.

There are many stories of persons who reached rock bottom just to finally do what they were born to do and became quite rich... when their motivation met their inspiration and they took action.

The article stated, "inspiration is what is possible for you .. .motivation is the reason why you are going to go and take the action and make it happen!

"If you're finding that you're not really doing anything or nothing seems to be happening, it's usually because you aren't inspired enough and you aren't enough ... to take action, to make those changes... In other words you are too comfortable with your situation and circumstances!

"It's up to you to get inspired and get motivated ... No one else can do it for you!"

What that we at Flipping Grand Bahama and Flinstonesinc took action and now are asking you to help up to make your dream come true. At least if you purchase and wear a t-shirt it tells people that more than just them are contemplating a better Grand Bahama and maybe more will purchase which will lead to more funds to assist persons with businesses that will turn the economy around.

In a recent discussion with an acquaintance who is a long time resident of Grand Bahama, he said he hopes Freeport turns around to which I quickly reminded him of the days when we thought Freeport was going down. After the rush of the 50's and the 60s that ushered in a lot of constructions and the building of Freeport which pushed the natives to the outer areas, there came the 70s and the smaller investors leaving quickly. However, in the late 70s and early 80s there was still a lot of activity here. There were over ten big hotels on the island and two casinos. Mountain top experiences

The Grand Bahama Port Authority is really going all out this year as they are not only hoping to bring in investors but also to create more investors/entrepreneurs at home.  This is a very favourable turn of events with the new Business Development Department. This conference would be the third event launched by the Port this year, the first being the My Grand Bahama Campaign, then the Customer Service Workshop and now the Economic Empowerment Development Conference.  As the world turns and the seasons for each place, especially Grand Bahama, is just about complete with its valley times for now, we are moving closer to the mountain and looking forward to some mountain top experiences. Here it's about setting a stage for all players to be ready. Grand Bahama will flourish with more residents. A pictorial look at Freeport 1950-1960s

Before hitting the great days of the 70s and 80s I found these photos of Freeport on Oldbahamas.com and thought to share them. Remember that unlike Nassau, New Providence, Freeport, Grand Bahama did not have the history. What history we have now is the growing up of Freeport and the entire island due to the formation of the Hawksbill Creek Agreement,  the Grand Bahama Port Authority and the Grand Bahama Development Company. A boom of energy and a vision that was all set, but later side tracked by the thought of sharing the profits was what we were left with and little though of how to recover and move on with proper legislation to assist all.
